Nothing happens overnight, although I do believe tremendous gains can be made in a relatively short period of time, I also know that it is very unrealistic to expect to be able to just turn your life around overnight. There are very few career changes that can be made instantly and to tell people to just go out and be whatever it is they want to be without looking at the steps required to become that is irresponsible.
Do it, but don't just do it, think about it plan it out, find a mentor or someone else who is already doing it, ask them about it, how they started doing it, what they like and dislike about doing it, what to expect while doing it. Try it or shadow someone and get some real life experience just doing it, see how you like it and if you really do like it at all. Spend a significant amount of time doing it so the newness wears off, and you get a real feel for how you gel with it. Once you know that you like it, plan out a path to getting to it, use your mentor, use the internet, use books, figure out a path to where you want to go and focus on completing each step one at a time. That is how you Do It. There is always more to these post then I put on the blog these are just talking points, but if you will follow this advice, I think you will meet with success at a high frequency then if you wing it and decide you want to do it. Remember, just do it, but don't just do it.
