First off let’s talk about what prayer is to me which is pretty simple, prayer is a way focusing your mind on what you want and conveying that message to other forces. Some would say it is a means of communication with God, others would say it is a means of communication with the God force, still others will say it is a means of communication with the universe. All of these are just plays on words that essentially mean the same thing. Focusing your mind on what you want and conveying that message. Prayer is a lot like talking, I mean it is a form of communication, but it is a higher form of communication in which you activate and utilize your Godlike power for creation.
Now before you start looking at me funny think about the things that have come into your life. You dreamed of a car or focused on a means of transportation long before it showed up. You dreamed of a job or earning income long before it showed up. You dreamed of your mate or a companion long before they showed up. The Godlike ability that I am speaking of is the ability to create or attract things that seem beyond your physical control into your life.
My favorite example is that of the red Toyota, when you first begin to think about wanting one you begin to see them everywhere. After a period of time you begin to see ways of getting them everywhere. Some call this programming your subconscious, others call this calling things into existence, and others call this answering your prayers, but again all of these things mean the same thing.
You see everything starts as thought, ONE reason some people achieve more than others is because they are exposed to more, and have more belief in the possibilities, and as such when they pray or focus their thoughts on a particular goal, they have more to reach into. What I mean by that is that someone that has never seen a steak won’t pray to eat one, someone that has never seen a car won’t pray to have one, and someone that has never seen money won’t believe that they are capable of getting it. Two points to bring up here are belief and emotions, because the emotions are the triggers. When you get excited about your goals you ever notice how they seem to happen faster, things seem to really come to you, this is because your energy is focused on achieving those things and both your conscious and subconscious mind align in order to bring you to them. But you have to believe it’s possible before the emotions will show up.
Last point of mention here is work, prayer is a means of communicating your desires, but after that the emotions that should be accompanying those desires should drive you to get to work while your intuition or “God” begins to line things up for you to work on. Those hunches and ideas that just pop in your head while you’re moving, that’s what I’m talking about. But if you don’t get moving they don’t show up and your prayer becomes worthless.
To point a fact, prayer is more than getting on your knees and speaking out loud or in your mind to some omnipotent God Force, prayer is what you are thinking about and how you are feeling for the better part of a period of time. If you get on your knees and pray for a better job, but you aren’t applying and you are thinking about how horrible your job is or how much you would like to not have that job anymore, then guess what’s coming. If you’re thinking about how bad the job is, it will get worse, if you’re thinking about how much you want to be free of it, you will be fired, and these things will happen regardless of what you get down on your knees about. Because in actuality, what you are praying for is different from the words you are speaking when you “pray.” Prayer is a thought and emotion based activity, not a physical and verbal one. Nor is prayer a magic wand that makes things magically get better. And yes prayer does work, it works very well, the problem seems to be that most people don’t understand that they are praying when they think they aren’t and aren’t praying when they think they are.
So that is prayer to me, and it has worked for me, and my belief has been strengthened by everything I have read concerning prayer. My beliefs go much deeper than this and I could probably write a book on prayer alone, but this is the essentials of it. What about you, what is prayer to you? How do you think it works? Why do you think most people don’t seem to be getting the things they pray for?
